Gym Membership!

We finally did it!  Mr. KU and I got a gym membership!  I cannot tell you how much I have missed going to the gym in the past 6 months or so.  And my body can tell.  I just don't feel as good, I'm not as awake or with-it when I'm not going to the gym.  So we joined Maximus Fitness and Wellness Center in Lawrence.

I have my first assessment with an instructor on Sunday morning - YIKES!!  I already know what he is going to tell me and I'm not going to like it.  But that's OK - its a step in the right direction and I'm excited to get back on track.

We have been running every other day or so and eating much healthier, but I'm not getting the true cardio and weight lifting that I need to actually lose the weight.

I will keep you posted on this health journey of mine (I'm not calling it weight loss, just getting back on track)!

I've also started this Herbal Cleanse through Advocare.  I was reading a blog that I follow Running in High Heels and she was advertising the cleanse.  So I emailed her and asked around and I've heard nothing but positive feedback, so I'm giving it a try.  Today is only my first day and so far so good.  I don't feel any different yet and it didn't taste that bad this morning.  I can't wait to see how I feel after the next 10 days.

It's starting -- finally getting back to a healthy me!  And I can't wait until I reach my goals!!!

I did it yet again......

I LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE CAR!!!

This happens quite often actually.  I am very put together when it comes to work, but when it comes to my personal life I cannot keep my keys in the right place... or my debit card, credit card...

I ALWAYS LOSE THEM!!

This morning, I thought I locked the keys in the car, but they were on the floor next to the couch...and what do I do 10 hours later...

LOCK MY KEYS IN THE CAR!  Uhhhh so frustrating!  Luckily Mr. KU has AAA and we carpooled today, so we are stuck at work waiting for the guy to unlock my car.

Slower than I would like....

I know when it comes to weight loss I want to lose it immediately...and that just isn't realistic!  I know that, I just want to be at the weight I was last year...uhhh!  Why did I let myself get like this?!?!

I'm just having a frustrating moment.  Sorry for the blah blog post.

Now on to a more positive note -- I worked out tonight and last week was a great workout week!  I ran 1-2 miles every night and it felt good to run again!  That is giving me hope.  This week, I'm a little tired, but tonight I went on a walk outside, enjoying the beautiful weather.  Then came home, did crunches and had a light dinner.

So I'm also thinking about doing this cleanse.  Its from AdvoCare.  I found it through this blog I found...

It's a Herbal Cleanse.  I'm a little skeptical because I've never done a cleanse before, but a few of my family members and friends have and they said it worked - it was a great way to lose 5-8 lbs right off the bat...and I need a kick start to this weight loss challenge of mine.

If you have any words of motivation, please pass them my way, or if you have tried a herbal cleanse and have any more information for me, please let me know!

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

I am soo lucky with my fabulous friends!  And this weekend I was able to celebrate one of my best friend's Bridal Shower & Bachelorette Party!  I am honored to be her maid of honor.  The other 5 bridesmaids and I have been planning the day for quite some time and it turned out so great!  I think everyone had a great time!!!  Plus, some of our friends were able to drive up from Tulsa and Oklahoma, and fly out from the East Coast!

It is definitely going to be another year of weddings and this past weekend was kinda like the kick-off weekend!

We started the day with a Bridal Shower.  Typical brunch type shower, with 2 simple, fun games.

1.) Question game.  Julie had to give the same answers that her fiance Jeff had already previously answered for me.

2.) Bridal Shower Bingo.  Everyone at the party fills out their bingo cards with potential gifts that the bride could open.  First person to get "BRIDE" (or bingo) wins a prize.  Our prize was a bottle of white wine!  Who doesn't like wine!

Enjoy some pics of the day!

I'm also trying out some cool effects with Picasa Web Albums through Gmail!

MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I am one lucky girl!  I know I keep saying that, but I feel truly blessed to have AMAZING friends, family and this one person in my life who makes everything so special...MR KU!  Everytime I think he's outdone himself, he surprises me with something else.

Well my birthday was nooo different!

I already told you about the new phone that I got.  It is so fun, I can hardly put it down!  Friday evening we got a hotel to kinda get away from life and just have a date night.  Kinda feel like we were out of town, but not really.

View from the hotel -- cost of these things was $1M each!

We hung out for a while and then went out to eat at CAFE TRIO.  We ordered a couple of appetizers that were quite delicious!  We were saving up for dessert at The Melting Pot.  It is a fondou restaurant where you get to cook your food.  Well, I'm not really into cooking and paying for my food all in one place at a restaurant so we just got dessert.  It was to die for!

Literally, I thought I ate too much my stomach was going to explode!

Yes - because one plate of dessert wasn't enough! haha

We are pigs.  No other explanation!

Sorry, long post, but I had a wonderful birthday.

Saturday we went down to Power & Light to watch the Kstate and KU games.  Dad and Kim joined us as well.  Then we headed off to my mom's house for steaks, beer and cards.  It was a great way to spend my birthday.  Turning 27 wasn't exactly a thrill for me.  I am a little apprehensive about it, but nothing I can do to stop it.  I'll just make it fabulous!

Few more pics of the day.  Enjoy!

Memoir Monday

This weekend was absolutely WONDERFUL!  Mr. KU made my birthday sooo special.  I just can't ask for a better boyfriend!

I went over to his house Thursday after work, and this rather annoying musical sound was coming out of his bedroom.  So I walked in and asked him what that was.  He said he didn't know and began looking for it...I followed suit.

Well, I found this beautiful new phone in his t-shirt drawer and it had a "Happy Birthday" Screen saver on it!

HE GOT ME A NEW PHONE!

It is the Samsung Epic!  I've wanted it for a while now, but was waiting for the perfect time to make the purchase.  We went to Best Buy and got the phone activated, and all set up on my account.  Mr. KU also decided to get himself one....

Therefore, we spent all Thursday and Friday evening playing on our new phones.  DORKS!

{More weekend festivities to be posted later}

MY BIRTHDAY!

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to...just kidding!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm super super excited!  I took the day off from work and I"m going to enjoy a nice visit to the dentist and then a little workout.  After that - may do a little shopping, take a nap, don't really know yet, but I'm excited that there will be no set plans!  I don't have to log into work and I can forget about Payless until Monday morning!

Mr. KU and I are staying in KC for the weekend.  He will be driving in after he gets off of work.  We are going out to eat and trying a new restaurant - Cafe Trio!  Then, going to the Melting Pot for dessert!  I've never been to either place and I've heard AWESOME reviews from both!

Then Saturday we are spending some time with my family - lunch with dad, dinner and cards with mom.  I'm actually looking forward to a low key birthday weekend - not going out, feeling like crap the next day!  I guess that means I'm getting old!

{Don't worry there will be a future post }
